What a Weekend...

Okay well... camping was a bust. You aren't going to believe this story...
I made a special effort to get out of work early on Friday because we had a great camping trip planned out... so we load up everything in the truck plus the dogs and we were off to Bellaire for camping at Chain O' Lakes.
We arrived there (after being slightly lost) at around 7:30 (didn't get on the road til 6ish) and our first impression was not a good one at all. The people were like... ghetto as hell. I can't say it any nicer... they were the bad kind of redneck. Like... inbred? Okay, so moving on... they tell us where our site is. We drive over to it... there is this creepy guy in a pop up trailer RIGHT next to us (these sites are so small you could piss across it without trying...) and he is eyeing us up like he would have done something nasty to us or the dogs. Not to mention... there wasn't enough room to even SET UP our tent, if you recall, it is a 16 footer by 10 footer. There wasn't that much room on this site... and I'm not kidding. The next horrible detail... there was no grass. It was all gravel.
Okay so we go to the office and Walt goes in to tell them we aren't satisfied with the campground and we are going to cancel our reservation. This place was not even close to full... it was obvious they had not turned anyone away due to our reservation but she still was a bitch and kept our first nights fees... this is the best part, before that transpired... Walt had explained he was unsatisfied and she looks at him and says, "Oh.. your one of THOSE." He said he was just dumbstruck... it was insane.
So... darkness is falling and we have to find something... quick. So we drive another hour to Elk Rapids... which, mind you, the lady said was only 8 miles from that campground... sooooo not true. I am sure she would have told us that it was next to Hawaii if it would have gotten us there.. *eye roll*.
So... we get to White Water campground and we pull in to see a sign stating the campground is full. I, by this time, have a pounding headache... Walt is pissy... and the dogs just have to plain old piss. We were all hungry... tired... and OVER IT! So... they direct us to this place called "Everflowing Waters"... we finally find it down an unmarked backroad... it was worthless. We could see Grand Traverse Resort over the treeline at the end of this road... Grand Traverse Resort is a whole 8 minutes from our front step. *eye roll* we said screw it and went home.
So... once home, we flop on the couch and we hear sirens just WAILING down our road and STOP suddenly. Walt makes a joke, "Gee... that was quick..." and laughs... and I turned to see 40' flames shooting up from a house in the sub next to ours... it was crazy. Needless to say... we walked onto the patio and watched this whole thing unfold. It was horrible. What they figure happened, since the fire originated in the garage and ripped through the attic, they figured the kid was messing around in the garage with a welder and since the house had faulty electrical set ups it set off this fire. Well, this particular family were gearheads and they had a derby car and the family car in the garage at the time... plus tanks of oxygen and acetelene (sp?) plus gas cans and things...
To make a long story short... Ox/Act tanks, gas cans and two cars meant the flames went from 40' to 65' in the air in a hurry. I know it is hard to picture... but... it was real. And real scary.
Anyway...
Our weekend continued with a drive in Saturday night. That was neat... we watched Willy Wonka and The Fant. Four. The latter was dry... I didn't like it much. Sunday we devoted to working in the yard... it looks great. I got pictures I will post tomorrow of my creation and Walts backbreaking work.

Also, trouble seems to be brewing again...
His attitude has sucked lately. Which, in turn... causes mine to suck. So, I don't know what to do. He hasn't been being very affectionate at all. It seems were just at a point where are butting heads. He isn't affectionate so in turn I grow angry and blow up at small things. I don't know what we'll do but we better find something quick...
Not implying anything BAD will happen if we don't but you know it's just not a great way to live. We are happy people and I would rather stay that way.
You all have a wonderful evening... g'night.

Maybe you should get away on your own for a weekend. Go some place... I dunno where.. so you're not at each other's throats. That might help. I hope so anyhow. *hugs*
